Christian Kutzner has served the Berlin Institute as a scientific consultant and office manager since 2004 and 2006 respectively. His main responsibilities are the description and interpretation of demographic processes, and the organization of studies from a financial and staffing perspective. Last but not least, he has been charged with the communication of proposed and finalized projects/studies. He is also the co-founder and chairman of the "Berlin Citizens Forum" (Bürgerforum Berlin) which – by arranging meetings between politicians, academics and the public at large – fosters the political engagement of citizens in areas where changes are needed.
Following his apprenticeship in Industrial Business Administration, he studied Art History, National Economics and Philosophy at several universities, among them the Albert Ludwigs University in Freiburg, the University of Glasgow, and Berlin’s Free University and Humboldt University. He has several degrees to his name, including a Master of Philosophy from the University of Glasgow (1994) and a Magister Artium from the Albert Ludwigs University in Freiburg (1995). He is married and has two sons.
